First visit
Fertility problems affect 10%-15% of couples. The first step will be to meet a reproductive medicine specialist, with the aim of seeking information and dispelling any doubts about fertility, and finally to have a first diagnosis.
How does the first appointment with the fertility specialist go?
It is the first appointment at the fertility clinic, the specialist will evaluate all aspects related to the case, to know the medical, gynecological or andrological history, and even evaluate previous medical tests and previous treatments received in other centers.
At VITA, the first visit is completely free and without obligation. A great opportunity to dispel doubts and have a first basic diagnosis.
YOU ARE ONLY 1 STEP AWAY FROM ACHIEVING YOUR DREAM
The first step will be the making of a small medical report for both members of the couple. The assisted reproduction specialist will have an interview with the couple to learn more about their medical history and health habits. If the couple has already had some study done or has already undergone an assisted reproduction treatment before, the reports of these must be provided at this first appointment.
The age of the patients will be asked about. It is a very important factor in assessing which assisted reproduction treatment may be the most suitable. During the interview, the couple will be asked about the time they have been trying to become pregnant, the frequency of sexual relations, the woman’s menstrual cycle, their lifestyle & eating habits. They will be asked whether there are any known male or female fertility problems.
It is also necessary to know the family history of both members of the couple to find out if there are similar cases of infertility in the family or if there are hereditary diseases that may compromise the health of both the patient and the future baby.
Finally, the medical history of diseases in the couple will be evaluated, as well as the woman’s gynecological history, which will be complemented by a gynecological examination and a transvaginal ultrasound.
The couple can have an approximate assessment of the cause of their infertility and the most appropriate assisted reproduction treatment for their case, along with the final treatment budget.
